Mehran Niayesh, an Iranian man, was arrested in Isfahan in January 2026 during protests. He subsequently died under torture while in state custody, suffering a fractured skull, broken ribs (one of which pierced his heart), and severe internal bleeding. His body, bearing evident signs of torture, was returned to his family.
